On 10 April 2024, the Clingendael Institute and Institut Montaigne co-organised a track 1.5 dialogue focused on Franco-Dutch cooperation and the EU’s economic strategy. The goal was to explore what both countries could do together to strengthen the EU’s economic security and competitiveness . The event was hosted at Institut Montaigne.

The topics discussed highlighted pathways for reinforcing the EU's economic resilience and competitiveness in an increasingly volatile global landscape. By addressing critical gaps, fostering collaboration, and recalibrating strategic priorities, participants agreed the EU can chart a course towards greater economic security and prosperity.

We look forward to enhancing the partnership with Institut Montaigne and organising the next roundtable in The Hague.
