06 Oct 2008 - 15:50

The enlarged EU of 27 members is facing a lot of challenges regarding effective policy-making, democratic legitimacy and global politics. The latest issue of the annual 'EU-27 watch', including the contribution on the Netherlands by CESP-fellows Mendeltje van Keulen, Jan Rood, Alfred Pijpers and Jurriaan Middelhoff, provides a comparative picture of debates on European integration and current political developments in each of the EU member states. Topics discussed include: the EU after the Irish referendum; the French Presidency; public opinion and political leadership; the first ten years of the Euro and current issues of high salience in the member states.

Co-authored by Mendeltje van Keulen, Jan Rood, Alfred Pijpers, Rob Boudewijn and Jurriaan Middelhoff.
