Future Force Conference 2017

Introduction

The Future Force Conference 2017 (FFC17) will bring together a range of internationally renowned speakers and a broad array of thought leaders to discuss and provide concrete courses of action on the conference theme: From partnerships to ecosystems: combining our efforts for a more secure world. The conference aims to deliver innovative approaches to dealing with today’s challenging security environment. 

During the conference the Clingendael Institute is organising two breakout sessions on the topic of  'Borders in Global Disorder'.

PaneI I - Borders in global disorder: challenges (9 February 2017, 14.00-16.30)
The first panel will set the overall scene with regard to border security, and identifies and prioritises current and possible future trends that pose major risks for Europe. 

Panel II - Borders in global disorder: responses (Friday 10 February 2017, 10.30-13.00)
The second panel focuses on responses, identifying goals, approaches, and actors for addressing existing and future challenges. It looks into roles and capabilities of current and possible additional actors in border security, creating concrete ideas on ways to discern capability shortfalls of the overall set of actors, and on how to address these shortfalls.
