Inspiring news from Yemen
09 May 2022 - 15:21

We have inspiring news to share from our Clingendael alumnus Yousef from CARE Yemen. Yousef participated in our Training of Trainers course in 2019 and has since then been providing several negotiation skills trainings for aid workers inside Yemen, in Arabic! Several local NGO’s in Yemen have participated and Yousef continues to receive requests for more training opportunities!

We are very proud of what Yousef managed to achieve in a context where humanitarian access negotiations are so complex. Yemen remains a country with extreme constraints regarding access to certain areas, but also to services and assistance. This is the result of the insecure situation, the bureaucratic impediments, and the COVID-19 restrictions. Negotiation skills are therefore essential to many aid workers there, and we are thankful to Yousef and his colleagues for their hard work and commitment!

Through our Training of Trainers courses, we train our alumni to be able to deliver a negotiation skills training of two days to local colleagues in their own language(s). Thereby we are able to increase our reach, and enable participants from all over the world to strengthen their negotiation skills.

Our upcoming Training of Trainers courses later this year are now open for our alumni to apply to!
