Jelle has joined the Clingendael Institute as an Academy Programme Fellow since July 2020. He coordinates, develops and implements a wide variety of diplomatic training programs for Dutch and foreign diplomats, as well as international peacekeeping professionals. As a trainer he specializes in personal effectiveness, delivering training on subjects ranging from public speaking to advocacy and lobbying. He also provides training sessions in conflict analysis for security groups.

Before joining Clingendael, Jelle coordinated a Global Studies programme at the Gymnasium of Utrecht and was active as a trainer for the Utrecht University MUN team. In addition, he gained experience interning at the Security Policy Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he worked on non-proliferation, disarmament and nuclear affairs.

He holds a BA in History and an MA in International Relations in Historical Perpective, both from Utrecht University.
