Huub Verbaten

Huub is Senior Research Fellow at the EU & Global Affairs Unit at Clingendael. His field of expertise mainly concerns Dutch and European migration policy, focusing on Dutch and EU asylum migration, labour migration, return and visa policy, externalisation and migration partnerships, integration of migrants and legal protection. Analysed the legal and political implications of these policies for The Netherlands, EU and the European context. 

Huub holds an M.A. in European law from Tilburg University. Huub has over 10 years of experience as a legal researcher and project manager at the Advisory Council on Migration. He also worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and for the Immigration and Naturalisation Service in The Netherlands.
