Strategic Monitor 2017-Transnational organised crime

This thematic study focuses on the main trends in the area of transnational organised crime that affect security interests in the European Union (EU). In addition to terrorism and cybercrime, ‘serious and organised cross-border crime’ is prioritised in the European Agenda on Security (EAS).‍ The priorities specified in the EAS are the focus of the analysis in this document: people smuggling, human trafficking, the illegal trafficking of firearms, the trafficking in illegal narcotics and the laundering of money obtained through criminal activity.‍
