Bart van den Berg is Academy Fellow at the Clingendael Institute where he is responsible for international security training programmes. He has trained senior military staff, diplomats, security personnel and civil servants from many different countries, abroad and in the Netherlands. He is a trainer in strategic policy planning, cyber- and international security. Bart has an academic interest in technology and emerging security threats and trends.
Prior to joining the Clingendael Institute, Bart has worked 6 years as an infantry officer at the Royal Netherlands Army, leading various military operations in a fast-paced and demanding environment. As infantry commander, Bart has been placed under French and German command. He has been deployed with an international mechanized battlegroup in Lithuania in 2018 as part of NATO’s Enhanced Forward Presence.
Bart holds a master’s degree in Chinese Economy and Business from the Rotterdam School of Management and Leiden University.
