Roundtable with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia

On Wednesday 7 February, the Clingendael Institute hosted a roundtable with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, in cooporation with the Armenian Embassy in the Netherlands.

Minister Mirzoyan discussed the current security situation in the South Caucasus and the features of the process of normalisation of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Reference was made to the negotiation process for the draft peace agreement. 

The minister also referred to the deepening of the Armenia-EU relations and noted that Armenia's relations with the structure of European integration are based on common values ​​and democratic principles, which include the effective implementation of the Armenia-EU partnership agreement, as well as the development of new directions of cooperation.

In this context, Mr Tony van der Togt referred to the Clingendael report on the EU and South Caucasus and expressed his willingness to continue working on the relations between countries in the South Caucasus and the EU, including in cooperation with Armenian think tanks.
