Isabel Albers joined the Clingendael Institute as an Academy Programme Fellow in March 2021. She coordinates, develops, and teaches programmes for foreign diplomats and international relations professionals, with a focus on intercultural communication and mediation. As an intercultural expert, she aims to improve the way international professionals deal with multilingual and multicultural working environments.

She is currently working on a number of programmes for diplomats from several different regions. As a member of the intercultural team, she furthermore develops training programmes with a focus on intercultural communication, -collaboration, and -leadership.

Prior to her work at Clingendael, Isabel worked as a project manager at a large translation company in the Netherlands, with a special focus on governmental translations. Before that, she worked on different projects at an educational institute.

Isabel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Comparative Literature and a Master’s degree in Intercultural Communication. She was an intern at the Royal Tropical Institute, has studied in Valencia, Spain, and has visited many countries in South America. She speaks five languages and aims at learning many more.
