Amaya Verschuur joined the Clingendael Institute as an Academy Project Fellow in March 2025. She coordinates and develops a variety of training programs for different audiences, including negotiators and mediators supporting peace processes, foreign diplomats, and security sector personnel. Prior to joining Clingendael, Amaya worked for the Dialogue Advisory Group, an independent organisation that facilitates political dialogues between armed groups, governments and international organisations in conflict situations. She also has experience in M&E and evaluation practices in conflict-affected regions and as a researcher on local conflict dynamics in the Netherlands. She holds a MSc in Conflict Resolution and Governance (cum laude) from the University of Amsterdam and a BSc Molecular Science and Technology from the University of Leiden/Delft University of Technology (cum laude). Following her studies, Amaya gained experience interning at the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and Justice & Peace Netherlands.
