Keynote by Ukrainian Deputy MFA Emine Dzhaparova

Ms. Dzhaparova visited the Clingendael Institute on June 14th. In a keynote speech open to public, she addressed Ukraine's bid for EU candidacy status, Dutch-Ukraine relations, and the current situation in Ukraine, including the Crimean Peninsula. She was joined by Mr. Robert Serry, former and first Dutch Ambassador to Ukraine. Bob Deen, Coordinator of the Clingendael Russia and Eastern Europe Centre, moderated the discussion. Op donderdag 10 maart bespraken Clingendael-experts in het Nutshuis in Den Haag de meest recente ontwikkelingen rond de Oekraïne-oorlog. Ze gaven toelichting op bijvoorbeeld de nucleaire dreiging, kansen voor diplomatie en de impact van de sancties op Rusland. We zoomden ook in op de humanitaire crisis en vluchtelingenstromen vanuit Oekraïne naar de EU. Met o.a. Bob Deen en Danny Pronk.

Op 25 april vond in Het Nutshuis in Den Haag de tweede editie plaats van ‘Clingendael Leest’ met Wendelmoet Boersema, slavist, adjunct-hoofdredacteur van Trouw en auteur van het boek 'Gronings Goud: over de macht van het gas en de rol van Rusland'.

Clingendael Leest: Hoe de grootmachten de koers van de wereldpolitiek bepalen

De koers van de wereldpolitiek wordt bepaald door de wisselwerking tussen de grootmachten: de VS als de gevestigde macht, Rusland als de afnemende macht, China als de gearriveerde macht en de EU, als de twijfelende macht. In deze derde editie van ‘Clingendael Leest’ praat hoofd van de Clingendael security unit Dick Zandee met Sven Biscop, professor aan de Universiteit Gent, onderzoeker bij het Egmont Instituut in Brussel en auteur van het boek Hoe de grootmachten de koers van de wereldpolitiek bepalen .
