Mark Meijers is an Academy Fellow at the Clingendael Institute since February 2021. He joined Clingendael in August 2020 as an intern. During his internship he drafted international security open registration courses and diplomatic training programs. The diplomatic trainings programs he coordinated were for foreign diplomats, among others, from Afghanistan, Indonesia, and the MENA region. One of the highlights during his internship was the development a negotiation simulation related the access of Covid-19 vaccines for Global Health Diplomats.
He will continue to coordinate several trainings for international relations professionals, civil servants, and diplomats, with a focus on international security and diplomacy.
Mark holds a BA degree in International Relations and International Organizations from the University of Groningen. During his studies he gained experience in the field by volunteering for a refugee project in Ankara, Turkey. In addition, he holds a MSc degree in Crisis and Security Management from Leiden University.
